The Conservation District had planned to have a Riparian Grazing Workshop in the Augusta area on July 21.  With the consideration of the Covid-19 virus and the nature of the workshop, specifically the proximity of people to each other during the day, we have opted to postpone the workshop to spring/summer 2021.   If you have questions about this, please let us know at lccd@mt.net or call the CD office at 406-449-5000 ext. 5.

Little Prickly Pear Creek

Willow Projects

XX Bar Farm & Ranch

Agriculture, Education, Programs
A few years ago, Lewis & Clark Conservation District sponsored a grant for a local farmer and rancher, Tim Dusenberry of the XX Bar Farm & Ranch.  The grant was for a pilot project to look at doing cover cropping for soil health improvement. Tim has expanded on that operation and recently was interviewed on the Montana Public Radio Home Ground with Brian Kahn.  Tim talks about how he got interested in working on improving soil health and other innovations that he's made with mob grazing and other techniques. You can find the interview here and just scroll down to Tim Dusenberry. You can find more information on the XX Bar Farm and Ranch on their Facebook page here.
